The Playground Project, organized by Linda Pass, recently received notification of a grant from The Winston-Salem Foundation for $20,000. Congratulations to Linda and her many dedicated volunteers!
The funds are being made available from the Edna B. Parkin Georges Youth Fund and will be used for the purchase and installation of playground equipment at both Miller and Lockland Parks. The Playground Project volunteers are also continuing to pursue corporate donations from local businesses as well as private donations from neighborhood residents.
Linda is still recruiting volunteers to assist with this project so please contact her at 727.0912. Part of the grant stipulates that community volunteers must help with equipment installation – so call Linda today to volunteer just a few hours of your time! This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the diversity of Ardmore and to become better aquainted with your Ardmore neighbors while providing a safe and fun place for our children to play.
The equipment at both parks is dangerously outdated and many updates are needed. Linda’s vision has turned into a reality and her exhaustive efforts will create an environment that will enable children throughout Winston-Salem to develop lasting friendships while engaging in healthy outside activities.
Donations (with checks made out to the ANA, marked “Playground Project”) can be mailed to:
