Ardmore Neighborhood Association Meeting
August 10, 2009
In attendance: Dianne Blancato, Lonnie Clark, Tom Dalyrymple, Catherine Eades, Patti Heath, Pauline Leggatt, Phyllis Newman, Tiffany White, Ann Winters.
Call to Order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes: The minutes for June and July were approved
Membership Report: There was no growth in members this month.
Treasurer’s Report: $5,807.52 as of July 31.
Real Estate Report: There were 90 active homes-for-sale listings in Ardmore as of August 11. There were 11 pending sales and 13 closed. The average price range of the listings is $140,000.
Signage: The Board approved the expenditure of $465 for 50 reusable signs to promote ANA events.
Area Plan Update: The Planning Board has approved the area plan.
WFUBMC agreed that it will not use the houses next to the MRI building for nonresidential purposes and agreed to eliminate the Cloverdale Shopping Center as a possible site for expansion.
The hospital is considering providing landscaping and outside maintenance to its rental properties on Queen Street. It has also been approached to purchase apartments on Craig Street and is considering them for student housing.
The next meeting for the Area Plan is before the General Governance Committee on September 8 at 4:30 p.m.
Safety: There are fences and bushes in the neighborhood that block the view at some intersections and driveways. There was a brief discussion about how this problem can be addressed since there is no city code that deals with this matter.
A coyote has been cited several times in Ardmore.
Dining on the Parkway: The Peter’s Creek Community Initiative (PCCI) is requesting volunteers for a litter pick up day on Saturday, August 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Academy Street.
Dining on the Parkway will take place on August 31. Sampan, Mayflower and Mr. Waffle have agreed to donate ten percent of the day’s proceeds to PCCI.
