Weatherization Makes $ense: A Workshop
If your energy bills are too high, or if you want to make your home more comfortable and environmentally friendly, this workshop is right for you! Every day, air leaks let in the hot summer air or let out your heat in the winter, making you air conditioner and heater work more than it has to. Weatherizing your home can effectively seal these leaks and cut down on that energy bill–saving you money, and saving excess carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere. Join Piedmont Environmental Alliance, Goodwill Industries, and Forsyth County Library to learn more about home energy audits, basic weatherization projects, and landscaping for energy efficiency. Please contact Lisa at ude.ufwnull@7jltron or 828.337.5909 with any questions. http://peanc.org

Environmental Affairs [Forsyth County Environmental Affairs Department]

Originally formed as the Air Pollution Control Department to deal with such issues as air quality monitoring, open burning, and visible emissions, the name was changed to Environmental Affairs in 1974 to more accurately portray its involvement in the protection of land and water as well as air quality. In 1976, the Environmental Affairs Board was established for the purpose of advising the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners and assisting the Environmental Affairs Department with topics related to environmental management.
