Impervious Surfaces

I’ve just gotten notice about my Grant to cover removal of impervious surfaces in my back yard. I met Wendi Hartup this summer and Linda Birdsong this fall. I’ll meet with Linda Birdsong to affirm details soon. My completed project will be inspected by March for my funding.

Impervious Surfaces

Grants to cover materials for such practices as rain gardens, cisterns, and removal of impervious surfaces from the Soil and Water Conservation District require both local and state level approval. Now is the time to request advice.

Does water pool or cause erosion near your home and/or around your property? If so, one cause could be from rain water runoff. As a public service agency, NC Cooperative Extension can help you determine a solution. In fact if your property meets the right criteria, you could be eligible for a grant that would cover materials for such practices as rain gardens, cisterns, and removal of impervious surfaces from the Soil and Water Conservation District. The Forsyth County Center located on 1450 Fairchild Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 has lovely demonstration gardens and a wealth of information.
