Date and Time: Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (rain or shine)
Location: Ardmore Gateway Garden (426 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
Dividing your perennials? Wish you had more? It’s that time of year when flower lovers dig up their perennials to refresh their beds and plant some new varieties to brighten their gardens. In partnership with Sustainable Ardmore, the Ardmore Neighborhood Association is sponsoring a plant swap for gardeners of all skill levels.
Bring in something you can spare – hostas, daylilies, irises, coneflowers, whatever is suitable for dividing. N.C. Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer tips, encouragement and problem-solving. Perennials thrive when they are thinned out periodically, so dig up a few of yours and stop by. Have a cup of coffee, stay a while to meet & greet the flower lovers of Ardmore.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a flower garden yet. There will be plenty of extras, so stop by anyway and select something to take home from the swap table.
This is the First Annual Great Ardmore Plant Swap. Sustainable Ardmore will be doing some site work that day in preparation for major improvements to the garden. If you can spare an hour or so, they would love a few extra hands.
